The flash season 5 ending update#
The episode ended with an update in the time vault on the date the Flash was reported missing.
Sherloque returned to his home planet, Joe was promoted to Captain of the CCPD, Captain Singh revealed he knew Barry was the Flash, and Cisco took the meta human cure. Nora could have been saved from disappearing by going into the negative speed force but she chose not to be saved because she didn’t want to become like Thawne. When the dagger was destroyed and Cicada disappeared, a new timeline came into existence, one where Nora was no longer in 2019. Team Flash confronted Thawne but had to let him go because Nora was disappearing. Cicada disappeared but that meant Thawne was set free. So they had no choice but to destroy the dagger with the mirror gun to stop her from continuing to hunt down meta humans. However, taking the meta human cure wasn’t enough, the shard of satellite in Grace’s head still had enough dark matter for Cicada to exist. Grace taking the meta human cure would prevent Cicada from ever coming into being. They would keep Cicada in a force field while Nora used her mental connection with Grace to speak with Grace and convince her to take the meta human cure. Team Flash had a plan to defeat Cicada without getting rid of the dagger. So Ralph took the blast from the mirror gun so that the dagger wouldn’t be destroyed. Ralph had figured out Thawne’s plan for them to destroy the dagger so that he could escape prison because the dagger had taken away his powers in the future. At the end of the previous episode, Barry was about to shoot Cicada’s dagger with the mirror gun and destroy it. Last week the fifth season of the Flash ended with the “Legacy” episode.
